2011!!!

Where do I start???
2011 was a great year but I'm glad it's over, there were so many things i looked forward at the beginning of last year, like my brother getting home from his mission and christmas in Houston with my family.
Now, i did go to Houston to see my brother get home from Boston and i couldn't go for Christmas but my sister was able to come to Utah and visit me so i was very happy and we had so much fun.
If i could describe last year with a few words....they would be:
Growth
Faith
Patience
Love
I think it was a year of learning for me personally and of trials that tested my faith and i am thankful for them.
I learned to be a little patient waiting for blessings i wanted to come faster...
and i learned that love is what matters from your family and no one else, i seriously am thankful that i have my family , my husband and my daughter.
So my sister my brother -in-law and their kids came to visit us for Christmas and i was so excited, they only stayed a week but it was worth it.
We shopped together for gifts and we went snowmobiling i think that was the highlight of the trip, at least for me, it was something we had planned before ahead of time and the boys also went snowboarding after christmas.
we spent Christmas eve with my in-laws and the family, we had some yummy delicious food, then we played games like mafia and "tipoteo" we laughed a lot and had so much fun.
Sunday, we didn't wake up on time for church so we stayed home and relaxed and then we went to Temple Square to see the Christmas lights and it was absolutely crazy COLD brrrrr! so we left after an hour.
These are some fun pictures of our fun-ness.
this was our guide, Tom.

November in Texas :]

So last year i wanted the year to fast forward to November because my brother came home from his mission. It seemed too far away back in February but then all of a sudden it was time and i had a chance to go and be with my family to see my brother return home from his mission.
It was very exciting getting ready and waiting for him, we got there like 30 mins early and supposedly his flight was early, but we still waited a while.
My brother-in-law left work for a little bit to go and see him too.
We were so anxious and had all the cameras and video cameras ready to film but our battery was running out because he was taking too long, and we were all looking for a man with a suit to come down the stairs and ...finally...we saw him and he was walking slowly and taking his time, then he saw us and he was surprised and a little embarrassed maybe, but me and my sister started tearing up a little bit, we even forgot the cameras were filming as we ran up to hug him.
Everyone that passed by stared and read our banner and probably thought "what's an Elder?" we had some family friends come with us to the airport too, and it was so cool he met his niece and nephew he didn't get to meet before he left.
This is the whole group and his banner
The happy family once again reunited.
His favorite niece he never met.
My beautiful sister and her family.
My precious papis

Our baby is not a baby anymore!!!

Sophie is 22 months she will soon be 23 and then 2 in February.
She started saying and reapeating a lot of words in the summer around July and August, and she would just say one word and babble the rest, but after turning 18 months she started repeating more words she would hear, and put sentences together, she also loves singing and dancing so she is a little better at it than before, she is not a bieber fan anymore, she just loves any kind of spanish pop ,rythmic loud song or reggaeton.
She loves to eat fruit snacks, she became a little obsessed i think, that's all she wants to eat every day all day. I bought her some vitamin gummies about 2 months ago and they're a little sour but she loves them so she thinks she can have them all day every day.
She is also very bratty and she likes to have everything her way, and if it's not just expect a tantrum! She doesn't like going to nursery at church on Sundays, she make a big deal and she cries till she can't cry anymore. I feel horrible but i have to leave her so she gets used to it.
She loves it when daddy comes home and plays with her, he's her entertainer, mommy only feeds, bathes and takes care of her. Sometimes she gets annoyed by me i think that when daddy comes home she forgets i exist.
She doesn't like to have her hair done or touched. She loves taking a shower and playing with her bath toys, she also loves watching movies, we could watch tigger and winnie pooh, bambi, mickey mouse all day.
She is the joy of my life and she makes my everyday better.
We took her to the zoo on Jan 2nd because daddy had the day off, and she was so excited, we told her we would go see the fish and go out to eat, this is her running around the aquarium.
She didn't even want to pose for any pictures.
This is her and mommy watching the penguins swim.
after the aquarium we went to the South Towne Mall in Sandy when she saw the carousel she said "caallo" (horse) and she didn't want to leave. So we let he ride it once.
More Sophie watching fish swim at the aquarium.
This is just a random photo of Sophie with "grampa" as she calls him from three months ago or so.

Baby baby baby OoooH!

I've got a lil bit Justin bieber Lover at home. How crazy is that? She loves "Baby", she is so funny, she always wants to dance that song. And she brings me my phone and says "babay" that's how she says it. so i play it and she starts moving her arms and legs and hips up and down, then she fistpumps, it's so cute. I've tried to record her but when i take the camera out she stops, so i can't.
And she is only 18 months old.
If i play any other song, she says " No, Babay".
I don't have a picture of her dancing, but i do have a little video.Just a tease.
Enjoy.

Superman? NO...Super mom!!

I had never cherished my mom so much till i became a mom. I think nobody does. Mom's are the super heroes of all time. superman really? What realistically does he do? Spider man? save people? That's a cops' job.
There's many types of moms, Working moms, Stay- at- home moms, Part-time-working moms, Young and old moms. Grandma's that become moms, it never ends. But all in all all kinds of moms are heroes. I think.
Mom is a full time job, and sometimes overtime job. Never stops.
As soon as your baby is born something comes over you that makes you feel love and protection over that tiny little being. As time passes by that love grows like a seed, little by little and it becomes huge, ginormous like a tree. more like an oak or cedar tree.
I sometimes ask myself how can i feel so much love for someone i have only known for a year ( when it takes me a while to even like someone like extended family I've known for years) but it's so much like me in so many ways physically and emotionally and i carried her inside me and to think i was so nervous and anxious before i had her. Fear to the unknown of how to provide and take care of a tiny human being.
Sophie is my tiny human whom i adore with all of my heart.
So i officially declare ALL moms Super heroes.
For taking their lives and putting them aside for a few years and dedicating them to their tiny ones who someday will be as grateful as I am to my superhero (My Mom) for all those sleepless, tired, sick nights and days she endured through to watch over me and even in my early teens when i was sick, she would cook for me and make me feel like a million bucks again.
Even if we are tired, sick, sad, depressed, fatigued, our job doesn't have a day off or paid leave, most of the time it is never paid, except by hugs and tiny kisses from sticky/dirty little lips.
It's amazing to think that i have the power to make her feel all better with a hug and kiss when she falls or bumps her head with the door, or feels terribly sick with a fever. How amazing is that. Making her feel safe when even I do not feel safe.
I have had to take Sophie to the doctor many times by myself, sometimes late at night and give her her medicine that she hates, feed her when she does not want to eat, bathe her so her fever goes down, rock her and sleep by her crib so she feels safe at night. Cook something when i don't feel like it so she eats a healthy meal, feed, bathe and play with her even if i feel horribly sick. That's Love. Unconditional Love.
To all the superhero moms out there.
My Favorite Moms! I love them!

Sophie turns 18 months! Yay

Sophie turned 18 months old on the 12th.
i had been taking her to nursery in church weeks before so she could get used to it, and i thought she was doing fine, she was a little timid at first but by the second hour she was playing with the toys and having her snack. I will admit i was scared to leave her, not because she would cry but because she is a spoiled little princess, she thinks that by crying mommy will grant all her wishes. Maybe Yes! well i do sometimes, but at home, and i didn't think it would be like that at any other place.
The first time i left her by herself she didn't even notice i walked out. she was playing with the puzzles and the books, so i walked out to go to my class, and i came back to check on her after the class was over, the sister in charge said, " Sophie is doing great, she hasn't cried, but she's just not being ladylike." I was like " Oh, really? (acting surprised) I mean what could i do at that point? so i just left and hoped she would stop scratching and hitting people.
Eventually she did. i guess she realized that if you scratch mom you go to time out but if you scratch kids in nursery, no one does anything, so what's the point? i don't get any attention.!
I Usually put her in her crib for time out and close the door and i leave her there for a minute and a half, and then i go get her. She seriously cries her eyes out, till i come get her then everything is alright.Brat.
Last week i had to sit in nursery with her for a few minutes, then when she saw me stand she would grab my skirt and pull me down so i sat down again and waited a couple more minutes. I finally decided to leave, " she will cry anyway" i thought. And she did. And it broke my heart when i saw Her because she looked so sad and it was too hurtful,, like her saying "Mommy please DON'T go. Don't leave me". i wanted to go back and stay with her , but i had to be a grown up mom, and I left.
I came to check on her, and she seemed fine, they said she was kinda sad or tired, she wasn't being her usual smiley self. So i guessed she was tired.
I picked her up after the class was over and she ran up to my arms like two lovers in a movie at the airport, i imagined it just like that. But much better, because it was my lil bit running up to me. They were all holding hands playing ring around the rosie pocket full of posies...and she saw me and it was like her world turned upside down for a second. Oh how i LOVE her.
I will take pictures of her next time with her cute dress, i just have to find my camera's charger.LoL.

4th of July!

4th of July to me means, MY MAMA'S birthday!
what 4th of July means to all other Americans, freedom! So i guess it is a good thing.
We had never spent a 4th of July together, by we i mean my hubby and I , since we got married, because i always leave to Houston for the summer around that time, so this year i said " I will spend it with you, boo", So I did. ( I was kidding about the boo part).
We went to a local, Kaysville, parade around  11AM and i was so excited expecting like the best show ever, because i had been told it was one of the best parades of the state. Wow i thought, must be good. I even wore my blue patriotic shirt for the event. That says a lot, Im usually not patriotic.
So we went and it had already started, we walked there, hence the late-ness, our apartment faces the Main street so we just walked out and whoa, people invaded my sidewalk, like we couldn't even cross the street.

The parade , first off, the "cool" part of it was cheerleaders and dance teams from the local  High and Junior High schools, and the rest were local businesses trying to self-market themselves by throwing melted taffy candy. Gross. i caugh a couple and after noticing everyone threw out the same candy i threw it back. Here you go. Keep it. GROSS.
Then came the ball and frisbee freebies, those i did try to catch but i wasn't lucky, my hubby was, he kept on bringing me balls and coupons for Frozen yogurt shops,  I was like, " Stop it, it's enough".

The fire department from Kaysville drove by with their big fire truck and wet everyone standing by close, i almost had to go hide inside the High school to not get wet for a second.
On the other hand my hubby was like a little kid that has never taken a shower and sees water for the first time, he was first in line to get wet by the fire truck, he came back soaked and dripping water , so we walked home and changed and then went  to my hubby's uncle's house to eat some yummy BBQ food and Mexican carne asada.
It was a very soaking vitamin D and water day.I gave it a 4 out of 10 to the much talked about parade of the state.
Anyway Sophie enjoyed very second of it, she was staring and so excited every time daddy brought her a new ball, all of which i ended up throwing away after the parade.
