4th of July!

4th of July to me means, MY MAMA'S birthday!
what 4th of July means to all other Americans, freedom! So i guess it is a good thing.
We had never spent a 4th of July together, by we i mean my hubby and I , since we got married, because i always leave to Houston for the summer around that time, so this year i said " I will spend it with you, boo", So I did. ( I was kidding about the boo part).
We went to a local, Kaysville, parade around  11AM and i was so excited expecting like the best show ever, because i had been told it was one of the best parades of the state. Wow i thought, must be good. I even wore my blue patriotic shirt for the event. That says a lot, Im usually not patriotic.
So we went and it had already started, we walked there, hence the late-ness, our apartment faces the Main street so we just walked out and whoa, people invaded my sidewalk, like we couldn't even cross the street.

The parade , first off, the "cool" part of it was cheerleaders and dance teams from the local  High and Junior High schools, and the rest were local businesses trying to self-market themselves by throwing melted taffy candy. Gross. i caugh a couple and after noticing everyone threw out the same candy i threw it back. Here you go. Keep it. GROSS.
Then came the ball and frisbee freebies, those i did try to catch but i wasn't lucky, my hubby was, he kept on bringing me balls and coupons for Frozen yogurt shops,  I was like, " Stop it, it's enough".

The fire department from Kaysville drove by with their big fire truck and wet everyone standing by close, i almost had to go hide inside the High school to not get wet for a second.
On the other hand my hubby was like a little kid that has never taken a shower and sees water for the first time, he was first in line to get wet by the fire truck, he came back soaked and dripping water , so we walked home and changed and then went  to my hubby's uncle's house to eat some yummy BBQ food and Mexican carne asada.
It was a very soaking vitamin D and water day.I gave it a 4 out of 10 to the much talked about parade of the state.
Anyway Sophie enjoyed very second of it, she was staring and so excited every time daddy brought her a new ball, all of which i ended up throwing away after the parade.
