When: June 23rd, 2011, 4pm
What: We drove to Arizona for my hubby's cousin's wedding, Tucson to be specific, and made it in record time of 12 hrs and 45 mins with pee and gas stops and all.
I was nervous traveling with Sophie, because she is too active and i knew she wouldn't stay still in her car seat.
I bought her snacks and i brought along her DVD player with her favorite DVD of all time, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.She would pause and play it every 2 seconds till she fell asleep.
we arrived at 4:45AM and slept till like 9AM the day of the wedding, we had breakfast and got ready for another sleepless night, the wedding itself was pretty fun, there was a Mexican band and they played everything, i mean everything, from lambada, Mexican folk songs, rancheras, pop, soft rock, it was too much fun. The dinner was good and they had Mexican candy laying around in a table ,there were so many Mexicans let me just tell you i didn't even get any candy :(
The good thing about it is that i danced the whole night and burned half of my meal at least, i was so tired but i had to keep on going for the sake of my belly, i mean i love it but i don't like the way it looks on me, maybe on someone else, not me.
So we left the partay at around 1AM and to my surprise the family of the groom was invited to come over for a pozole after-party where we stayed, so i went to bed at like 3AM. Yep it was another sleepless night. we decided to leave on Sunday afternoon to rest a little and catch up on our sleep.
It was a very tiring road trip, I'm glad we don't do it too often, or else as much fun as that was i don't think i could do it again. But then again i say the same thing after every roadtrip.
So we'll see next time.
